Denis Noble

Emeritus Professor of Cardiovascular Physiology, University of Oxford

Professor Denis Noble FRS is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Oxford. He was the first to construct a mathematical model of heart rhythm. Models of the heart are now used worldwide by pharmaceutical and regulatory organisations to assess cardiac toxicity of drugs. Recently, he has applied the same methods to understanding the mechanism of action of a traditional medicine. The results of this work will be explained in his lecture.
